The Ukrainian authorities intend to demand the extradition of the detainees in Belarus, “fighters”, reports “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the press service of the SBU.

That could require the issuance of natives of Ukraine, who are among those detained in Belarus, said Deputy Secretary of Council of national security and defense of Ukraine Sergey Krivonos.
“This issue is being discussed, how. It would be nice,” said Krivonos. According to him, the results of detainees “would strengthen relations between Ukraine and Belarus”, and also “reflects the desire of the enemy to use the territory of its neighbors as a springboard for action against Ukraine.”
Even earlier, immediately after receiving information about the detention of Russians with a similar idea was proposed by former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin. According to him, if in the group there were persons who participated in the fighting in the Donbas, they could be used to exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war and those individuals who are serving sentences in Russian penal colonies, being considered in Ukraine as political prisoners.
