On Monday evening there was a serious accident at Reutlingen train station. At around 6:20 p.m., a young man falls onto the train tracks after a fight with two youths aged 16 and 15. He is hit by an oncoming train.
According to the federal police, the three young men initially argued on the platform. After a hit, the 25-year-old lost his balance and fell on the tracks. The train driver of the arriving regional express is said to have seen him lying on the rails, but was unable to stop the train in time.
As reported by the police, after the emergency brake was activated, the person who fell was still dragged along 30 to 40 meters at around 30 kilometers per hour.
He was taken to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries to his back and neck. In addition, the 16-year-old is said to have been treated for shock.
It is still unclear what the argument between the parties involved was about. The federal police in Stuttgart are now investigating suspected dangerous bodily harm.
