Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal said that the number of registered unemployed increased by almost ten times compared to the period before the introduction of the quarantine. About it writes “Interfax-Ukraine”.
According to him, the program of the help to businessmen who have lost work from-for taken by the authorities of measures against the spread of coronavirus, is currently being finalized.
The funding of “temporary unemployment” will be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting.
On 13 April the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the state budget of Ukraine. It provides funds to help the families of the physicians who died of coronavirus. The budget deficit has tripled.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal predicted that Ukraine’s GDP due to the pandemic coronavirus by the end of 2020 will fall to 4.8 percent. Without the support of international financial organizations in Ukraine threatens “the abyss of financial default” because of the need to repay internal and external debts, the Prime Minister added.
