The number of unemployed in Ukraine increased by 50 thousand and has made more than 320 thousand people, these changes have occurred over the past two weeks, while in the country, there were quarantine measures against the coronavirus, said the country’s Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal.
Earlier, the head of Ukrainian government announced the exit strategy from the quarantine, which provides for the creation of half a million jobs.
"today we Have more than 320 thousand officially registered unemployed. Over the past two weeks this number has grown almost on 50 thousand. Daily, if you compare a thousand people registered on the day prior to the introduction of quarantine measures, today this figure is growing every day – from 4 to 5 thousand registered unemployed," said Smigel in the program "Freedom of speech" on channel "Ukraine".
The government of Ukraine from March 12 because of an outbreak of coronavirus infection COVID-19 introduced a nationwide quarantine. From 6 April quarantine measures in the country was tightened, in particular, the government has forbidden to gather on the street in groups of more than two persons, except in cases of support of children. It is also forbidden to walk in parks, forest areas and embankments, numerous sports and playgrounds. Ukrainians were obliged to wear personal protective equipment and when leaving the house to have at itself the documents proving the identity. Also limited the number of operating checkpoints on the state border of Ukraine from 230 to 20.
