This was stated by the head of the state Department Michael Pompeo in an interview for the Washington Examiner.
“Our President spoke with Putin and decided to help Russia. We are talking about tests for the coronavirus] and the ventilator. This equipment is on the way”, — he said.
Pompeo stressed that in the White house are glad to have Moscow and that the country has done with each other in different situations.
In particular, Pompeo said that the United States and Russia provided each other support in the fight against terrorism. He added, however, that some actions “are still in conflict with democratic values.” The Secretary cited Russia’s actions in Syria, the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea, which considers illegal (Moscow denies these accusations).
