Impressive activity of Russia in space for the most part based on the lost heritage of the Soviet time and little reason for confidence that the ongoing efforts of the country will regain power, told RIA Novosti employee of the Harvard-Smithsonian center for astrophysics, Jonathan McDowell.
According to him, the United States could be open to equal cooperation with Japan and Europe.
“In any case, I doubt very much that Russia will be invited to participate in key American projects,” — said the expert.
McDowell is confident that American spacecraft Crew Dragon is superior to the Soviet-Russian Soyuz, and China in five to ten years will be able to compete with the US leadership in space.
In may, former NASA astronaut Catherine Nyberg likened the landing on the “Union” and Crew Dragon. According to her, when landing on the ground she didn’t feel physically bad until, until arrived the crew started to get out of the capsule. Nyberg admitted that she wouldn’t like the landing on the second.
In April, the head of NASA Jim Breidenstein said that the first launch of a Crew Dragon with astronauts aboard the ISS on may 27.
