In the mountains of Sochi resumed work Park waterfalls “Mandalika”. About it reported in a press-service of one of the mountain resorts.
This is one of the most impressive natural attractions of the region. The Park of waterfalls is located on the southern slope of Aibga ridge, in the riverbed of the same river. A favorite tourist route is created for oneness with nature, walking the murmur of mountain streams and the scents of mountain flowers.
the Park starts from the bottom of the cable car – with a height of 1470 meters above sea level, next laid special trails, including to the base of the falls, observation deck with railings. The route for visiting all the waterfalls within four kilometers and takes about 4.5 hours.
Now, visitors to the resort can take the Small, Middle and Large ring of the waterfalls and see the seven waterfalls: “Mendel”, “Char”, “red”, “Mishkin grotto”, “Aya”, “Snow direction” and “Gold”. The height of the last – 77 meters.
Recall that from June 8 in the mountains of Sochi allowed walking, opened summer terraces of cafes and restaurants, and also started booking hotels.
Way
Park waterfalls got its name from the river Mandelia flowing through the canyon. It is so named in honor of who served here during the Caucasian wars army paramedic Boris Mendel. In 1870 he married a girl from an ancient ancestor to the noble family. They had five children. After retiring from military service in 1872 Mendel received the post of civil assistant and settled in the tract Aigba. All members of a large and happy family was extremely industrious, and the head of the family was a local village elder. Mendel bred horses, herding cattle, collecting the harvest in the abandoned gardens, planted rye, millet, built a water mill.
