A baby Capuchin maggots were born in the Moscow zoo, told RIA Novosti press-service of the Moscow zoo.
"In the Moscow zoo was born a baby Capuchin crybabies. Primates are so named from the peculiar cry similar to a baby crying. Baby Capuchin monkeys born at the beginning of February", – told the press service.
The zoo said that now he is a little older, but still eats breast milk and most of the time the moves on his mother.
"the Birth of a baby Capuchin maggots is a great joy for us. While gender cannot be determined, as a caring mother, the female Nori – rarely release it from itself. But after a while, when the baby becomes more independent, we can determine the sex of a baby and give it the name", – said Director of the zoo Svetlana Akulova, her words quoted in a press-service.
According to experts a press-services, active baby sometimes runs away from mother, trying grown-up food, inspects the cage and even climb on his back to the brothers and sisters. The Capuchins, this happens: older siblings take care of younger siblings.
"Now in the Moscow zoo 9 Capuchin: a male and two females, and the rest their offspring. Our mom is the youngest female, she is a little shy and timid. The zoo added that the father of the cub is a male Sailor – the head of the family. He was born in the Moscow zoo 15 years ago, but his family didn’t get along with another group of Capuchins, so the primates were transported to the zoo in Yekaterinburg. A few years later the Sailor returned.
"the Cubs, which are born with us, go to other zoos. This helps save rare species, whose numbers in nature is constantly shrinking", – said the press service.
