As noted by the Deputy Director, head of Center for Asia-Pacific studies IMEMO Alexander LOMANOV, “the fight against the pandemic is not a war of one nation. So the question of global leadership and global governance in postcoronary age.”
According to him, the appearance of the coronavirus showed the vulnerability of the economies of different countries. “Hand of the market was not only invisible, but it was empty – said LOMANOV. – Previously all you could buy on the world market at affordable prices, but at the time of testing there was a sharp shortage of medical masks, resuscitators and the like. In this regard, countries need to analyse the role of government in the economy, the ratio of imports and import substitution need to find a balance so as not to aggravate the economic losses and to reduce the vulnerability of the economy from the effects of the crisis.”

Among those participating in the conference the representatives of these countries stressed that the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) could become the basis for regional cooperation in the fight against coronavirus.
