President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov sent a letter to the government of the Russian Federation with the proposal to include media in the list of industries most affected by the pandemic COVID-19. About this “RG” said the head of the press service of the RT President Lily Galimov.
She explained that Rustam Minnikhanov responded to the request of the Chairman of the Union of journalists of Tajikistan to support mediocracy difficulties during a pandemic.
In a letter to the head of the Republic noted the importance of information work, which lead the media in a special regime. Minnikhanov stressed that publications significantly decreased the volume of the advertising market (up to 90%) as the main source of income came from the companies that suspended their work during the pandemic. In addition, restrictive measures has jeopardized the holding of the subscription company. According to Minnikhanov, a sharp drop in the revenues of mass media may lead to the closure of the publications, which will adversely affect the operational information society, and the authorities will lose their channel of communication.
