"Although the primary and main responsibility of the US authorities is to care about the American people, Italy’s support will help in the fight with flash COVID-19 and mitigation of the consequences of the crisis, demonstrating at the same time, U.S. leadership despite the campaigns of disinformation from China and Russia", – stated in the document.
Assistance from the United States must also "to reduce the risk of re-transmission of the virus from Europe to the United States and to facilitate the functioning of key supply chains".
Earlier official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the approval of the American side about the misinformation on the coronavirus, said that Russia appealed to the state Department "with the requirement to submit the actual confirmation of such statements", but received no answer "no reasonable explanation of such statements". Zakharova called the accusations in the address of Russia "baseless" and "shameless" in conditions when the whole world is struggling with the pandemic.
As said the official representative of the MFA of Russia, Moscow considers the "new attempts to accuse the Russian Federation, to ascribe a completely mythological accusations as an inappropriate continuation of Russophobia, which espouse certain political forces in Washington". She said that Russia expresses its solidarity with the American people and encourages responsible US politicians "to speak objectively".
