HOUSTON, April 15 – RIA Novosti. Samara scientists at the national research University named after academician S. P. Korolev made the most powerful in Russia industrial magnetic-pulse installation that it uses for the production of large parts of airplanes and helicopters, said on Wednesday the press service of the University.
“Samara University has developed and manufactured the most powerful in Russia industrial magnetic-pulse unit (Miu), which will be used for the production of large parts of airplanes and helicopters”, – stated in the message.
According to the press service, the technology of magnetic-pulse processing of materials is based on conversion of electrical energy stored in the energy storage device, a variable magnetic field under the influence of which there is plastic deformation of the workpiece. The technology, according to the Samara scientists, opportunities from the viewpoint of impart a predetermined shape. The force on the workpiece is carried out remotely, without contact, which allows to process parts with complex shape or structure, polished or painted surface, and also affect the molten metal or the workpiece are in sealed containers with a vacuum.
Samara University will give the finished installation in Novosibirsk state technical University, which will develop the technology of its application in the production, and then MEW and technology will arrive at Novosibirsk aviation plant named after Chkalov (part of the holding “Dry”).
