Polish operator PERN on Wednesday discovered a leak in a pipeline in the Druzhba system that transports oil from Russia to Europe, Reuters reports.

The cause of the leak is still unknown, according to PERN. The leak was discovered in a section of the pipeline about 70 kilometers from the central Polish city of Płock.

The Druzhba oil pipeline, whose name means “friendship” in Russian, is one of the largest in the world, delivering Russian oil to much of central Europe, including Germany, Poland, Belarus, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria.

In the wake of the gas leaks in the Nord Stream pipelines, concerns are now growing in Europe about a lack of energy security.
