In the Park "Kuzminki-Lublin" found the dragonfly-beauty, which is listed in the Red book of the capital, the press service of the Department of natural resources and environmental protection of Moscow.
"In the frame got pretty-girl – small dragonfly of the family beauties. Graceful appearance of this insect lives up to its name – the body of a male blue-green with a metallic sheen, the female is bronze green. A glossy chitinous cover creates a unique experience. The length of the insect 45-49 mm", – quotes Agency "Moscow" message Department.
In a press-service of the Department noted that the rare insects eat larvae and small aquatic worms. Moreover, these Babes are a tasty meal for many birds. So when flying they are extremely careful and vigilant, though, and flap their wings very gracefully.
"In Moscow these dragonflies breed mainly in small rivers and streams with the obligatory presence of a rich aquatic vegetation and riparian shrubs. For oviposition, the female descends into the water on stems of plants, sometimes to a depth of 1 meter. In the Red book of Moscow from the group of dragonflies recorded seven species: three dragonflies from the family of the rocker, two of the beauties, donorsin-Emperor dragonfly and Piedmont", – added in Department.
Earlier in the Moscow zoo was born a gentoo chick hornbills, which are listed in the International Red book. The chick’s parents arrived in the capital of New Guinea in 2015, but to replenish the family was only recently.
