Police in Minsk blocked the approaches to the Independence square where the government buildings and the Central election Commission, reports TASS.
On 13 August on the sidewalks on both sides of the Independence Avenue lined with women in white robes, to protest against brutality by security forces during the suppression of protests in the country after the presidential election.
August 9, in Belarus presidential elections were held. After the closing of polling stations in the Republic began an unauthorized protest against falsifications of the results. During the protests police used against the demonstrators with tear gas, stun grenades and rubber bullets.
In three days of protests, according to human rights, produced over 1,500 arbitrary arrests, more than 600 people received administrative arrests and fines, instituted a number of criminal cases.
