MOSCOW, may 4 – RIA Novosti. The President of Madagascar Andri Rajoelina decided to press freedom Day, to release all imprisoned journalists.
world press freedom day (World Press Freedom Day) is celebrated every year on 3 may, starting in 1994. The initiative to celebrate this day belongs to the representatives of the independent press in Africa.
the President did not specify exactly how many journalists will be released.
According to the press freedom index for the year 2020, which is part of an international organization “reporters without borders” (RSF), Madagascar is located at 54th place.
