As reported in Department of information support a press-services ZVO on the Baltic fleet, the exercise was attended by search and rescue team of the Leningrad naval base and the crew of diesel-electric submarine “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”, RAID diving boat “Boris Kiselev” and rescue tugboat “Nina Sokolova”.
Training rescue operation unfolded all the rules: maintaining the life of the crew of the submarine, replenishment of high pressure air, ventilation of compartments. The submarine was handed over medicines in canisters, regenerative devices and warm clothes.
the Divers had to leave the submarine through the torpedo tubes, dressed in rescue gear, and access to rescue funds. Their output was controlled by the divers-rescuers who helped the “victims” to rise from the depths to the surface and transported to the rescue ship, where military medics and special hyperbaric chamber for decompression.
I also Worked out another way of salvation, leaving the submarine with the stern. Divers, once in the water, had to climb into life rafts and speedboats that took them to the rescue vessel.
