the Government of Georgia Friday afternoon, April 17, forbidden to travel around the country in cars. This was stated by Prime Minister Irakli Chikovani, the TV channel “Rustavi”.
the Decision was taken due to the fact that despite calls by doctors to stay home, traffic in the country remained intense. Imposed by the authorities, the prohibition does not apply to trucks, and transport delivery services and expeditions.
Chikovani also added that it becomes mandatory wearing medical masks on the street and indoors. Responsibility for compliance rests with the legal entity.
Earlier, the four largest cities of Georgia were quarantined due to the spread of the coronavirus in the country. Check-out and check-in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi and Kutaisi were halted on the evening of 15 April.
a state of emergency in Georgia has been extended until 10 may. The state borders are closed, prohibited events, businesses have switched to remote work. Later, the authorities imposed a curfew and closed all liquor stores. Travel within the country is permitted only to certain categories of citizens and representatives of diplomatic missions.
According to the latest data, in Georgia the coronavirus has infected 370 people, three died. Total number infected with virus SARS-CoV-2 in the world exceeded 2.1 million; 146 thousand have died, 553 thousands cured.
