Co-chair of the Assembly of Slavic peoples of Crimea Roman Chegrinets urged the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky leave plans for the return of the Crimean Peninsula and install in Simferopol the monument in the form of a bell of Unity.
Chegrinets suggested Zelensky “leave the clown plans to return to the Crimea and installed on the territory of another state monuments,” reports RIA “Novosti”.
“he still has a chance to be a real President. Integrity, adequacy and truthfulness – that’s what we have to build the service of his people”, he added.
According to him, in case Zelensky decides to visit the Crimea, he should bring the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with his team, which sparked a civil war in their country.
“Here, their activities will be given an honest evaluation, and they will receive a well-deserved lifetime achievement award in places not so remote, and Zelensky will be able to communicate directly with the Crimean people and get an honest assessment about themselves and their actions. And the bell is quite possible to be melted down and used for needs of national economy”, – concluded Chegrinets.
Earlier Zelensky address to the nation on the occasion of Day of Victory in the great Patriotic war announced plans to install four bells of Victory, and two of them – in Russian beyond the control of Simferopol and Kiev authorities Donetsk.
Recall, the Crimea became a Russian region after the referendum, more than 96% of the participants voted for reunion with Russia.
While Kiev refused to recognize the reunification of Crimea with Russia and considers it “occupied” territory. President Vladimir Putin stressed that the issue of ownership of the region finally closed.
