Hurricanes on Earth will become more powerful, to such conclusion scientists from the National center for environmental information National oceanic and atmospheric administration (NOAA) and the American Institute of meteorological research of Wisconsin-Madison, analyzing the satellite images of tropical storms, over the last forty years. This was reported in an article published on the website of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States.

According to the NOAA and the main author of the study James Cassina, "hurricanes will grow at the global and at the regional level". However, according to him, it is unclear whether this occurs as a result of human activity leading to climate change, or increased storms is a natural phenomenon.

Except that hurricanes will become stronger, they will also move slower, the researchers said. And that means increased risk of flooding due to heavy rains that they bring.
