Historic Fort Worth Firehouse Transformation into Nobleman Hotel and Restaurant
**FORT WORTH, Texas**— A piece of Fort Worth’s history is being reborn as the iconic Fire Station No. 5, dating back to 1911, is undergoing a remarkable transformation into the Nobleman Hotel, set to open its doors in mid-February or March. Located at 503 Bryan Ave, the historic building will house a 153-room hotel, complete with the charming restaurant, The Duchess.
Preserving History and Revitalizing Charm
Dallas-based Bedford Lodging LLC is spearheading the renovation project, preserving the rich history of the fire station while adapting it to modern hospitality standards. Jeff Blackman, president of Bedford Hospitality, expressed his excitement for reviving the 110-year-old building, emphasizing the unique charm it brings to the project.
The hotel will boast a range of amenities, including a pool, fitness center, meeting spaces, and outdoor event areas, extending over 100,000 square feet. Visitors can expect to see original features like a fire pole and a repurposed staircase, maintaining the building’s authenticity and character.
Strategic Location and Extended-Stay Suites
Situated in the city’s bustling Medical District, the Nobleman Hotel aims to cater to the increasing demand for long-term accommodation. With 32 extended-stay suites equipped with modern conveniences like kitchenettes, refrigerators, cooktops, dishwashers, and microwaves, the hotel targets families, visiting medical professionals, and patients seeking extended hospital stays.
Mike Brennan, president of Near Southside Inc., emphasized the significance of the Nobleman in the neighborhood, filling a void in hospitality offerings and enhancing the area’s appeal. The hotel’s strategic location near prominent medical facilities like UT Southwestern, Cook Children’s, and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center further underscores its relevance in the evolving landscape of the district.
Collaborative Design and Construction Efforts
To bring the Nobleman’s vision to life, a team of industry experts has been assembled, including Florida-based KMC&A Design for room and common area design, Ashlar Projects for branding, and Crossland Construction for construction services. While the total construction cost remains undisclosed, state filings suggest an estimated expenditure of $26.5 million, reflecting the scale and ambition of the project.
Bedford Lodging’s track record of successful hotel developments, such as The Waters Hotel in Hot Springs, AC Hotel in Frisco, and SpringHill Suites in Lakewood, underscores their commitment to excellence and innovation in the hospitality sector. With the transformation of the Nobleman Hotel underway, Fort Worth residents and visitors alike can look forward to experiencing a blend of history, luxury, and contemporary comfort in this iconic landmark.
