Instead of wearing a festive suit in an extravagant bright red dress with a crown on his head – that’s how 16-year-old Kaden from Norfolk, England, went to his school prom. When he got out of the car, his classmates cheered.

For his prom at the Archbishop Sancroft School in Norfolk, England, Kaden from England fulfilled a long-cherished wish: he appeared in a red ball gown.

“At the age of 12, my son told me he wanted to wear a dress to his high school prom. Four years later we made that happen,” his mother, Nina Green, wrote on Twitter.

The reactions were overwhelming: Kaden was enthusiastically received by his classmates. “I’m so incredibly proud of him for being who he is. And the reactions he got at school were amazing,” writes the proud mom.

Kaden is celebrated on Twitter. “We should remove the word ‘great’ from the dictionary and put these pictures in instead,” writes one user. “I love it,” “I hope he had a fantastic time,” and “His face says it all and this dress is amazing,” read other comments. Kaden’s mother also gets under the motto:
