Grant Funding Available for Austin Teachers to Support Green Projects

The Bright Green Futures Grant, established in 2012, has provided over 250 grants to programs in the area, assisting teachers in developing innovative projects that benefit both students and the environment.

Priddy, program manager for the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability, emphasized the importance of supporting teachers in their efforts to create green initiatives. “Teachers have the passion and desire to implement these projects, but often lack the time and resources. Our goal is to alleviate some of that burden and provide them with the support they need,” Priddy explained.
