Nine-year-old resident of the English town of Blackpool, Lancashire, the sixth time saved suffering from a rare disease mother. This publication reports The Mirror.
37-year-old Gemma Hamnett (Gemna Hamnett) constantly loses consciousness as suffering from the rare Addison’s disease. It is an endocrine disorder where the adrenal glands are unable to produce adequate quantities of hormones, primarily cortisol and aldosterone, which the body uses in the metabolism and response to stress.
Gemma suffered from Addison’s disease since the age of seven, but the diagnosis she received in 2010. She worked in the police in Lancashire 11 years before retired from service on medical grounds in 2019.
An attack of the disease can happen due to minor factors such as the impact of the toe or stress reaction to the event. When Gemma loses consciousness for eight minutes she needs a shot of steroids to help her body replace the hormones that it cannot produce on their own. If she doesn’t get an injection for eight minutes, she could die.
Daughter Gemma Sienna Hamnett Chow (Sienna Hamnett-Chow) first saved the mother when the girl was only four years old. Since then, six times she saved the life of Gemma. During the last incident, her mother began having a panic attack, caused by feelings of stay in isolation because of the threat of the spread of coronavirus. Gemma once again lost consciousness.
Nine-year-old Sienna calmly gave his mother life-saving steroid injection. “She needs to extract insulin from the flask and stick it to me while I’m unconscious. She calls for an ambulance, but since I have a very rare condition, some paramedics have to study it before they come,” — said Gemma.
Following the latest incident, police officers, former colleagues of Gemma came to visit her and her daughter. They were impressed with the way the girl behaved in this situation. The representative of the local police, Claire Sloan (Sloane Claire) said that the girl deserves a medal. “She’s kind, caring, and don’t even realize how much amazing,” she said.
Earlier it was reported that the hotel American city of Livonia, Michigan, the girl called for help drowning in a swimming pool child and saved him from death. According to records from surveillance cameras, the child lay on the bottom of the pool for more than three minutes while a nine year old girl did not pay attention to it.
