(Paris) The designer Gabriela Hearst will leave her position as artistic director of the Chloé house, which she has held since 2020, the brand announced Thursday in a press release.
“I feel proud and happy with the work done at Chloé and especially to leave the message that a woman can do everything, while having fun,” commented the American-Uruguayan designer in this press release.
For her first collection at Chloé in 2021, the one that had bet on sustainable fashion, she had notably decided to eliminate synthetic virgin fibers such as polyester or artificial cellulosic fibers (viscose), to source recycled, reused and organic denim.
During New York Fashion Week in September 2022, she was inspired by the ancient Greek poet Sappho, whose feminism she praises.
She will present her latest collection for Chloé on September 28, 2023.
The brand has not yet specified the name of its successor.
