A tragic incident occurred on Interstate 35 in south Austin on August 11, resulting in the loss of two lives. The Austin Police Department reported that the crash took place at approximately 8:30 a.m. near Slaughter Lane when a vehicle collided with a pillar at a construction site.

Following the impact, the vehicle burst into flames, leading to the death of two adults. The Austin-Travis County EMS was on the scene to respond to the emergency, but unfortunately, they could not save the victims.
