A new school in Central Texas is changing the way students learn by combining academics with sports and life skills. Texas Sports Academy, a private K-8 grade school in Lake Travis, offers a unique educational experience for students like North Griswold, who spends two hours a day on core academics before diving into sports and other activities.

The school’s chief ambassador, Jamal Gross, believes that by making learning more efficient, students have more time to focus on developing important life skills through sports. From teaching grit and financial literacy to teamwork and public speaking, Gross emphasizes the value of using sports as a tool for personal growth and development.

One of the innovative approaches taken by Texas Sports Academy is incorporating financial literacy into the curriculum by having students negotiate NIL deals with local colleges. This hands-on experience gives students a practical understanding of how money works and the importance of saving.

While the school caters to students who are looking to excel academically and athletically, it also provides a dynamic and active environment for younger students. Kindergarten through fifth grade students are encouraged to explore a variety of sports and activities, while middle school students have the opportunity to work with experienced coaches to enhance their athletic skills.

With plans to expand and accommodate more students in the future, Texas Sports Academy is committed to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond traditional classroom learning. By combining academics with sports and life skills, the school is preparing students for success both on and off the field.
