On the background of the pandemic coronavirus Interpol recorded in several countries of attack on medical institutions through the so-called ransomware. In recent months it was reported, in particular, about the attacks on the network infrastructure of the Directorate of public hospitals of Paris and hospitals of the largest Czech cities Ostrava and Olomouc. 38 former high-ranking politicians, representatives of IT-industry and public figures signed a letter demanding not to tolerate attacks on hospitals in cyberspace. Among others was signed by former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, former Russian foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and General Director of “Kaspersky Lab” Evgeny Kaspersky. For the publication of the letters was selected by the New York Times, The Guardian and “b”.We call on the governments of all countries to take decisive and immediate steps to end the cyber attacks on hospitals, other medical institutions and medical research centers and health workers and international organizations working in the field of public health. To this end, governments need to work together, including at the UN to reaffirm the immutability of the norms of international law prohibiting such acts, and reaffirm their commitment to comply with them.In recent weeks we have seen attacks on medical institutions and organizations standing at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic COVID-19. These attacks have endangered the lives of the people.
