The 49-year-old Tesla CEO, SpaceX founder and among the world’s richest men opened his monologue by clutching his monotonal speaking fashion, saying nobody can tell when he is joking.

He added, in explanation, that he is the first person with Asperger’s syndrome to host the series. “Or the very first person to acknowledge it,” he said.
It might have been the very first time Musk has openly said he has the mild form of autism. However, at least one former”SNL” host, Dan Aykroyd, has talked about using Asperger’s.
Musk also joked about his Twitter accounts, which has more than 50 million followers, along with the tweets that led some critics to object to his being invited to host the show.
“Look, I know I sometimes say or post strange things, but that’s just how my brain functions,” he said.
Then Musk added a boast which got his biggest laugh of the night, along with also an applause break from the studio audience.
“To anyone who has been offended, I only need to say I reinvented electric cars, and I’m sending visitors to Mars in a rocket ship,” Musk said. “Did you believe I was going to be a chill, ordinary dude?”
But Musk attracted his own mother, model Maye Musk, on point to chat about what he was like when he was 12.
The casting choice brought criticism from those who felt the series was celebrating a guy because of his extreme wealth in a period of great inequality along with a guy who spread misinformation into his massive Twitter after as he downplayed the seriousness of this coronavirus pandemic.

And on”Weekend Update” he played a character close to himself, donning a bow tie and eyeglasses as a financial analyst called Lloyd Ostertag, throwing an elongated plug for Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency dogecoin.
Following”Update” anchor Michael Che struggled to understand, Musk as Ostertag confessed,”Yeah, it is a hustle.”
Dogecoin’s price, which has been volatile all year, tumbled 23 percent in the hour after the show started, and fell further on Sunday.
While Musk is likely the strangest host of this series in history — Forbes Magazine puts his fortune at $177 billion — many other business leaders, politicians and additional non-entertainers have hosted the sketch comedy institution in its own over four decades on the air.
