In the year of the memory and fame of the magazine “Rodina” has launched a special project, telling about the little-known facts of the great Patriotic war through the lens of archival documents.
– We write a lot about the war, almost every room opens out materials on the different episodes. But in the anniversary year I wanted to do something special. A few years ago “the Russian newspaper” has released an application on the documents of the Victory. We decided to go back to it and deploy the project into five rooms – from January to may, says the editor – in-chief of “homeland” Igor Kots.
the First edition – “Orders”. It is dedicated to the orders of the command of the red army, reflecting the main milestones of the great Patriotic war. As known (for example, to bomb Germany from 22 June 1941) and famous, but with interesting details. In particular, great attention is paid to the analysis of the famous order, known as the “not one step back!”. As it turned out, the initiators of the ruthless ordered were themselves veterans – they reported in the personal letters to Stalin about the disorganization, lack of order, cowardice, and stressed the need to restore discipline. Same here – about how they met this order on the fronts.
the Second part is dedicated to grocery cards. For Leningrad, survived the blockade, this topic is especially important. But in the special it is not only about Leningrad. For example, the material from Perm illustrated with vivid with the local aviation plant. During the war, worked there a lot of adolescents, and Director of the plant, major-General Anatoly Soldatov has awarded the production of shock fatherly. In the pictures a huge table, behind which sit the children in front of each jar of jam. Luxury for those times.
the third Release is called “Triangle”. It’s about letters from the front. It is known that during the four years of the great Patriotic postmen delivered 10.7 billion letters! “The war took up the pen, even those who have never held the hand tool is easier on the axe, – said Igor Kots. For severely wounded wrote to the neighbours in the hospital ward. For illiterate grandmothers – grandchildren. The country has become a vast field post offices on every street and addressees in everyone’s heart.”
Fourth, the April special issue – the most difficult. About the funerals. To get around this issue the attention it does not. After all, Victory Day is a holiday “with tears in his eyes.” Every family has its own tragedy connected with the great Patriotic war and the personal stories cling to the reader is much stronger than the pathetic editorials or dry statistics.
the Complete series of the may issue. It will be released in may and will be solemn – “Premium list”. It includes stories about how the award has found a hero 70 years later, about the little-known exploits of unclaimed orders and so on.
Each log Stanobecomes a gift for the elderly citizens of St. Petersburg are especially valuable on the eve of the anniversary of the Victory, who happen to meet in unusual circumstances. Some call back to thank again.
All these special editions was written as if specially for me, – says the believe Anna Ivanovna. – The order “No step back!” I heard a lot from his father, who went through the war. Awards – about, every father’s medal I can talk for hours. Triangles wartime letters – the valuable family relic. And two funerals – grandfather and brother mom. Well, what is the grocery cards we, the children of the war, of course, know firsthand.
– will Save the logs for grandchildren – continues veteran Nikolay Gennadevich. – Over the years the “official history” is distorted in one direction or the other. And the documents – something immutable.
