Lawyer Elman Pashayev, representing the interests of Michael Ephraim spoke about the desire of the artist to sit in jail in an interview with StarHit.
According to him, the actor “categorically wanted” to as a preventive measure he has chosen the content in the remand prison. Pashayev noted that the actor “is not himself” because of the deceased Sergey Zakharov and barely eats.
“In the year 30 thousand people die from traffic accidents, 20 thousand drunk drivers for 10-20 people sometimes killed in a single accident, and there is no resonance… driving could be you and I, and your relatives, and mine,” said the lawyer.
He added that no one understands completely the reason for which the actor sat behind the wheel drunk.
Earlier Pashayev said that Efremov feels “very hard”. The actor appealed for help to the doctors as “he doesn’t want that. He feels really bad and mentally, and physically,” he said.
On the evening of 8 June Efremov, who was in a state of alcoholic intoxication, caused an accident in the center of Moscow. His car went into the oncoming lane and crashed into a van whose driver, Sergey Zakharov, died in the hospital due to blood loss. The actor himself was not injured, he was sent under house arrest.
Later, the actor recorded a video message in which he proposed the family of the deceased at fault driver assistance and declared “the end of Ephraim”. Native Zakharova offer the actor rejected.
