(Gardena) E. T.’s unforgettable head, Big Lebowski’s iconic bathrobe and Princess Diana’s engagement blouse will go on sale next weekend in the United States, as part of an auction devoted to “Hollywood legends.”

“Hollywood Legends” will take place from Thursday to Sunday in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, with thousands of cult items unveiled to the press on Monday.

“These objects are now considered as a category of assets and no longer just as memories or a moment in our lives,” Martin Nolan, managing director of the auction house Julien’s Auctions, told AFP.

“It’s a lot more fun than stocks or bonds or a lot of other things you have in your investment portfolio,” he pointed out.

Among these “assets” is a model of the head of the alien E. T., Steven Spielberg’s iconic film, whose price could reach one million US dollars, according to Martin Nolan.

As for the Coen brothers’ cult film, The Big Lebowski, the bathrobe of the character played by Jeff Bridges is expected to reach $50,000.

The blouse Princess Diana wore in her 1981 engagement photo will also be up for sale and organizers estimate it could fetch up to $100,000.

Other items up for sale include a jacket worn by Audrey Hepburn in Charade (1963) and the famous computer of Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Sex and the City.
