the President of the Russian biathlon Union (RBU) Vladimir Drachev has questioned the legality of the decision of Board of Directors to convene an extraordinary report and election conference, which was announced earlier on Thursday.
“Now we are going to test this solution on legitimacy. As far as I know, under the Charter reporting-elective conference assembles the President or two-thirds of the regional federations. Can do it and the Board, but only with the written proposal of the President or regional federations” – quoted by TASS Drachev.
He stressed that “no extraordinary conference can not be the decision only of the members of the Board”.
Drachev was elected President of the RBU in 2018. His term of office expires in 2022.
