Losing to Liverpool was hard for Everton manager Frank Lampard to digest. His post-game comments are now being punished with a hefty fine.

Big fine for Everton coach: Everton manager Frank Lampard has been fined £30,000 by the Football Association, according to BBC Sport. The reason for the sanction are his comments after the 0-2 defeat against Liverpool in April.

Lampard in clear breach of the rules: The federation says Lampard’s behavior after the final whistle broke the rule “relating to media comments proven during a personal hearing”.

The reason: Lampard was already annoyed during the game against the Reds that referee Stuart Attwell had not awarded a penalty after Liverpool defender Joel Matip fouled Everton striker Anthony Gordon. After the final whistle, he emphasized that the decision would have been different if a Reds player had been fouled.
