Scientists at South Korea’s Institute of advanced technology have discovered an unexpected benefit of breastfeeding for maternal health. Study published the scientific journal Science Translational Medicine.
the participants were 174 women. 85 of them fed the baby two months after birth and then annually for another three years.

However, the results of the study showed that 85 nursing mothers through the adoption of so-called happiness hormone serotonin improved weight and functionality of the beta cells of the pancreas and glucose homeostasis, which reduces the risk of diabetes after delivery. Moreover, this positive effect persisted for about three and a half years after childbirth.
