Reading is essential, right? The creators of the upcoming Hollywood film “It Ends With Us” starring Blake Lively are making sure that everyone remembers the book that the movie is based on. They are promoting literacy by organizing a scavenger hunt in Austin on Monday, August 5, around the Little Free Libraries of Hyde Park.

If you’re not familiar with Little Free Libraries, they are like small book-sharing stations where you can take a book and leave one in return. They are like community book exchanges that aim to promote reading and sharing among neighbors.

The rules of the scavenger hunt are quite simple:

• The hunt starts at 9 am, and participants need to follow a map to locate each of the participating Little Free Library locations in the following order: 4109 Speedway, 605 E. 42nd, and 108 W. 33rd.

• At each stop, take a selfie with the library, tag @itendswithusmovie, @littlefreelibrary, and @fonspr, and use the hashtag #itendswithusmovie on social media.

• Once you have visited all three Little Free Libraries, head to the Baker Center (3908 Ave. B) between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Take a final selfie there, and you will be entered to win tickets for an advance screening of the movie. Stay for the flower party, featuring pink lemonade, photo opportunities, affirmation creations, and more. Don’t forget to bring a book to donate and pick up your own free copy of the original 2016 novel “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover.

“It Ends With Us” will hit theaters on August 9, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
