One of the reasons why Germany was recorded lowest mortality rate from coronavirus is the fact that the country has fewer generations living under one roof. This was stated by epidemiologist, Professor at the University medical centre charité and Harvard University Tobias Kurt.
According to him, the tradition of visiting elderly people with his family is more typical for southern countries.
In the southern European countries elderly people are more integrated, often living in the same house with other family members — said the expert.
In addition, Kurt noted the time on the fortified German health care system and measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus in order to protect particularly vulnerable groups of the population, according to the portal Free News.
