The transport Ministry revealed new details of large-scale Russian mega-project — high speed railway (HSR) from Moscow to Saint Petersburg. Talked about them the head of the Department Eugene Dietrich, writes RIA Novosti/
According to him, currently RZD is in the process of designing the CSM. The highway construction will begin in 2022. On the eve of the Deputy head of Ministry of transport Vladimir Tokarev said that the first train will travel on HSR in December 2026.
He also noted that the operating break-even high-speed highway will be achieved in 2027, and on net profits out five years after launch. It also became known that the new ways do not plan to let freight trains due to the schedule of high-speed trains and technical characteristics of VSM.
At the beginning of July 2020 the Ministry of transport said that the design of high-speed railway will run until 2023. According to preliminary data, the project will cost 1.7 trillion rubles.
