Died friend of Russia, a famous Italian journalist and social activist Giulietto Chiesa. He died at the age of 79 from a heart attack. On the death of the journalist, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the relatives of the deceased.

“he had the operation. It seemed that he recovered, but had complications,” said Ennio Bordato, President of the charity organization.
Chiesa’s wife said that the cause of death was a heart attack.
Giulietto Chiesa has done much to establish ties with Russia. More than 20 years he worked at the Moscow correspondent of the Italian newspaper l'Unita and La Stampa. In 2004 he was elected MEP, was a member of the Delegation from the parliamentary Commission EU-Russia.
In 2010 he founded in Italy the social-political movement “Alternative”.
In recent years, Chiesa was actively engaged in the project online TV, Pandora TV, collaborated with several publications, including wrote columns for Sputnik Italia.
The journalist wrote more than 20 books, many of which are devoted to the history of Russia and the USSR.
Earlier, the “Rambler” reported that 6 APR Giulietto told the Russian media as Italy lived in conditions of pandemic coronavirus.
