The most important thing in brief: Defending champion RB Leipzig has reached the quarter-finals in the DFB Cup. The Saxons won the round of 16 between two Bundesliga clubs on Wednesday against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-1 (2-0). The goals for RB in front of 34,822 spectators were scored by Emil Forsberg (8th minute), Konrad Laimer (41st) and Timo Werner (84th). TSG newcomer Kasper Dolberg (76th) scored the 1:2 from the visitors’ point of view.
While Leipzig will remain unbeaten in 2023, Hoffenheim are still waiting for their first win. The quarter-finals in the DFB Cup will be drawn on February 19.
