The highly anticipated 30th-anniversary screening of the iconic film “Dazed and Confused” is finally happening this September, thanks to the Austin Film Society and Focus Features. Originally planned for September 16, 2023, the event had to be postponed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Now, after waiting for the strike to end and everyone’s schedules to clear up, a new date of September 28 has been announced, along with a new location at the Paramount Theatre.

This special screening will be a star-studded affair, with cast and crew in attendance for a red carpet event. Attendees can look forward to not only watching the film but also participating in a Q&A session with director Richard Linklater and other surprise guests from the movie.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on August 2, with presale options for AFS members and Focus Insiders. General admission tickets will be available for the mezzanine and balcony, while premium tickets will include orchestra seating, exclusive merchandise, and access to the post-screening afterparty. Those who purchased tickets for the original Waterloo Greenway screening will have their tickets honored for the new location.

Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a beloved Austin-made classic. For tickets and more information, visit austinfilm.org/dazed.
