Chinese scientists have developed a unique calculator which can calculate the course of a coronavirus from individual patients. The algorithm shows risks to end up in the hospital on a ventilator and even death from infection.
The basis for the creation of the calculator steel one and a half thousand case histories and 72 potential critical risk factors of the disease. The methodology was eventually selected 10 parameters that allow to predict the course of the disease, write “news”.
Such factors include patient age, the presence of changes in the lungs that can be seen under x-ray, shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, hemoptysis, related diseases and more.
The calculator can be useful when deciding on the routing of the patient within the hospital. Its main advantage is the consideration not only of current symptoms and laboratory indicators and the actual outcome of transfer to the ICU or death.
The new tool not yet passed all stages of testing, so experts suggest the Russian doctors to approach it with caution.
