Fever, cough, trouble breathing.
these are some of the well-known symptoms of the coronavirus, but more patients tells now on Twitter about a specific symptom that they have experienced. The experience: a trembling sensation in the skin. It writes the New York Post.
One of them is Tarana Burnes man. It tells the woman behind the #Meto movement in a thread on Twitter.
‘Besides fever, he had something, we had not read about: sensitive skin. He felt the skin burning – even when he barely had a fever. We used the known aloe vera, which is intended to sunburned skin to soothe it,’ she writes.
And it is not a symptom that is completely unknown to the american doctors. It tells Daniel Griffin, who himself is a doctor and working with the corona-patients in New York.
Whether it is the virus itself or the body’s reaction to it, that gives the vibrant feeling, he does not know.
at the same time, he says, that it can be a symptom of post-traumatic stress for patients who have been in the respirator.
“People are accustomed to being sick, and then they are fresh again after some days. This virus has a curl on the tail – a draining fatigue. There is a zombie-like stage, where everything is foggy, and when their (patients’, red.) eyes are completely blank, and they are not as sharp,” says Daniel Griffin.
He also says that the among doctors don’t yet know how widespread the symptom is, however, a look at Twitter shows that several have experienced it.
One of them is the british author Peter Jukes.
‘I still have Covid symptoms, which comes creeping,’ he writes on Twitter, and continues:
‘It is difficult to describe the alien-like tingling in some parts of the body. I have fine, but is to exhausted and is very aware of the danger,’ he writes.
He is not the only one, for in the thread to write more, that they have experienced exactly the same:
‘I also have the fluttering feeling. It’s so weird. Have had it since day one. Now it is day 20. It feels as though my skin is electric. My daughter had it too.’ ‘I have it too! I can’t describe it, it is as if the flying bees that summer inside in the skin, a kind of electrical feeling. It’s terrible!’ ‘I thought, the sum and the shivers were just something up in my head. So many strange symptoms.’
The tingling and fluttering sensation may also be because of the fever, coronaviruses, gives, tells the doctor Vipul Shah from Pack Health.
“If people are not used to having fever, feel their skin maybe really electric,” he says to the New York Post.
Vipul Shah says, however, that this symptom alone is probably not enough to be tested for corona virus, because it is not yet known enough.
He therefore urges all who suspect they may be infected, follow the guidelines; isolation, thorough hand hygiene and to cover the mouth, when there is hosted.
