Colombia has become the 37th member of the Organization for economic cooperation and development. This is stated in the official statement published on the OECD website.
“the Accession of Colombia is proof that we are committed to uniting countries that strive to achieve the highest standards in the global state policies with the aim of improving the welfare and quality of life of its citizens”, – with reference to the Secretary-General of the RIA Novosti reported.
the Process of joining the OECD took five years. During this time the Colombian authorities have carried out serious reforms to bring its legislation into conformity with the requirements of the organization. The official invitation to be part of the country received in may 2018.
