the Head of “RUSNANO” Anatoly Chubais sees a way out of the crisis caused by the pandemic coronavirus, in building an innovative economy. He stated this during an online broadcast organized by the business school “SKOLKOVO”.
Chubais said that the main impact of the crisis occurred in the oil and gas industry of Russia, which fell sharply energy prices. “TEK today — 20 percent of GDP, 40 percent of the budget and 60 percent of exports. It is the backbone”, — quotes the economist TASS.
the Head of RUSNANO said that the crisis in the country should “sound alarm bells”. He is confident that the government needs to reconsider the attitude to the innovation economy, as the country can no longer rely on the oil and gas industry in the long run.
In particular, Chubais suggested to make changes to the tax code, in part to refocus the education system on entrepreneurial tasks, but also to actively develop the industry of direct investment.
