The beverage manufacturer Markentrinke Schwollen GmbH is recalling bottles of its mineral water. It cannot be ruled out that chemical residues will occur. Several states are affected.

As a precautionary measure, the Rhineland-Palatinate beverage manufacturer Markentrinke Schwollen GmbH is recalling one of its mineral water products with a specific best-before date. The company, based in Schwollen in the Birkenfeld district, announced on Wednesday that chemical residues could occur in individual bottles, which could lead to “deviations in smell and taste”.

According to the company, the product “Berg Quellen Medium B2 reusable glass bottle 0.75 l” is affected by the recall only with the best-before date and time “01.08.24 G3 13:00 to 18:30”. This information can be found on the bottom right of the large main label of the bottle, it said. According to the company, the product was primarily sold in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, as well as in Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. Schwollen GmbH expressed regret about the incident. Customers who bought the product in question could return it to their respective retailer, it said.
