The Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smoliy resigned on their own due to the constant “political pressure”. Statement by the Governor of the Bank submitted to the President.
Smoliy explained his departure to the inability to work because of “systematic pressure”, which is carried out for “a long time”, explained the position of the head of the press service of the national Bank.
"this makes It impossible for effective implementation of me as the Chairman of the authority vested in me leadership of the National Bank’s activity and interaction with other state bodies", — said in a statement Smoliy.
He added that his resignation wants to “warn” from further attempts “attempts to undermine the institutional framework of the Central Bank in Ukraine”.
