the Corresponding step was agreed at today’s meeting of the Board of the SBR “in connection with necessity of further development of the Russian biathlon Union and identify ways out of the current crisis situation.”

Note that the RBU President Vladimir Drachev is in conflict with the main part of the Board. Against the will Drachev, by decision of the Board as chief coach of Russian national team on 10 April was dismissed Anatoly Kovantsev, but instead recommended Valery Polkhovsky.
in addition, the President of the RBU opposed specialists approved on 20 April the Board of the organization for positions of senior coaches of men’s and women’s teams, Robert Kabakova and Vladimir Korolkevich. However, both nominations must be approved by the Ministry of sport of the Russian Federation.
