It is alleged that the incident occurred in a residential neighborhood Uruchcha in Minsk. The video shows how the traffic cops pull drivers right in the middle of the Avenue, throw them on the pavement and beaten. Also reports of damaged cars.
Earlier, the Parliament of Belarus justified the use of violence by security forces to disperse protests in Belarus. Law enforcement officers, the deputies found “absolutely adequate”, stressing that the path of violence is unacceptable for the Belarusian people.
Mass protests began in Belarus in the presidential election day, 9 August. Later they escalated into clashes with riot police. The protests were caused by a disagreement with the official results of the presidential elections which incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko, according to the CEC, has gained more than 80 percent of the vote.
