Published by the local authorities statistics on the number infected with the coronavirus in the Vitebsk region is significantly different from the figures sounded by the Minister of health of Belarus Vladimir Carnicom. In data hiding, the Ministry of health has accused journalists of “Nasha Niva”.
They noted that the Agency systematically does not publish statistics on the number of cases of coronavirus across regions. However, such data are sometimes publishes regional sanitary-epidemiological station, the local press with reference to the doctors in the hospitals and they are voiced at meetings of the regional headquarters in Vitebsk.
So, the head of the main Department of healthcare of Vitebsk regional Executive Committee Mikhail Vishnevetsky at the meeting of the regional headquarters, said that in dokshitsky district there were 72 cases of coronavirus, Beshenkovichi — 27, Liozno — 22.
Several hours later, after a meeting in Vitebsk Minister of health stated that “in Dokshytsy 20 patients with laboratory-confirmed coronavirus infection, Beshenkovichi — 7, in Liozno — 8”.
Reporters noted that Karnik could hardly voice the information only for the districts, not to districts as a whole, because in Belarus there are such statistics, if talking about rural areas.
“Yes and a few seconds later, mentioning the situation in Myadel, the Minister spoke in General about the "residents of the area". The answer to this riddle could theoretically be in different casuistic formulations. And maybe that information from regions is summarized by the Ministry of health only a few days later,” said the authors.
Earlier, the Belarusian doctors on condition of anonymity, told about the situation with the spread of the coronavirus in the country. Doctors believe that the authorities hide the true information about the number of infected and dead from the virus SARS-CoV-2.
According to the latest data, in Belarus, the coronavirus has infected 4779 people, 42 died. Total number infected with virus SARS-CoV-2 in the world exceeded 2.2 million, 148 thousand died, 558 thousand cured.
